Design and realization of precision Scanning Probe Microscopy solutions, including controlling electronics with dedicated and specialized software according to the customers needs; design and realization of top-quality High Voltage Amplifiers; design and realization of an fast data acquisition electronic systems; design and development of software tools for images digital elaboration; design and realization of hardware "custom" systems, among which High and Low Voltage power sources; design and realization of PC-based data acquisition systems; design and development of software tools for adapting commercial hardware systems to specific requirements of the customers. Feasibility studies. Training activities (high level courses in computer science)

Interaction between cytoplasm proteins and membranes: a study of lipoxygenases as a model in vitro and in vivo.

Description: We aim to utilize the following different lipoxygenases: LOX-1, mini-LOX, apo-mini-LOX, this last also reconstituted with metals different than iron. These lipoxygenases will be used to: i) determine their aggregation kinetics; ii) characterize formed clusters; iii) investigate the modalities of the interaction between the monomeric or aggregated for of lipoxygenase and synthetic or natural membranes. For this last point, particular attention will be given to the interaction with raft or non-raft membrane microdomains.
